What I Wish Every Woman Knew Before Their First Boudoir Session

But there are a few things I really wish every woman knew before stepping in front of the camera for the first time. These aren’t just tips—they’re truths that can help you enjoy the process more, stress less, and walk away feeling like the masterpiece you are.

1. You don’t need to “fix” anything first.

We hear it all the time: “I just want to lose 10 pounds first.” But let me tell you a secret—you are ready now. Boudoir isn’t about meeting some mythical standard of perfection. It’s about celebrating the real you: soft, strong, curvy, scarred, confident, or still finding her way. You are worthy of being seen just as you are.

2. It’s not about lingerie. It’s about you.

Yes, we have gorgeous gowns, wings, rhinestones, and more. But the magic happens when you feel at ease in your own skin. Some women rock a lace bodysuit. Others bring a band tee and their favorite jeans. We’ve even photographed clients in oversized sweaters or white sheets. This is your story. What you wear is just the frame.

3. You’re not expected to know how to pose.

That’s my job. I’ll coach you through every single movement—down to your fingertips. You’ll never be left wondering what to do with your hands or how to stand. I show you as we go, and even sneak in behind-the-camera previews so you can see how amazing you look in real time.

4. Being nervous just means you care.

You’re stepping outside your comfort zone—and that’s powerful. Most of our clients start their shoot a little shaky. By the end, they’re dancing to the playlist, laughing, and saying, “That was so much more fun than I expected!” The nerves will fade. The confidence you gain won’t.
